Purchasing Agent / Resource Specialist - Columbia City, IN

J&K Communications, Inc. is seeking an energetic, organized, self-motivator to join our growing team. We are looking for a dependable, long-term, hard-working individual who works well under pressure and has strong communication skills.

The basic functions of the Resource Specialist at J&K Communications, Inc. is to maintain physical inventory at optimum levels at all company locations to meet job requirements and control company costs. This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties as management may deem necessary from time to time:

  • Set up new parts with proper part numbers, costs, etc.
  • Perform cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy
  • Negotiate pricing with vendors to maintain or reduce costs
  • Purchase, track, and record tools for service team members
  • Stage all upcoming jobs and installations to ensure proper parts are available
  • Purchase stock items to replenish inventory as well as purchase shop supplies
  • Maintain current cost on all inventory items and update in company software
  • Establishing and maintaining min. and max. quantities and identify obsolete items for potential write-off
  • Ability to communicate professionally with co-workers, vendors, and customers daily
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude and ability to prioritize and multitask is a must

Bench Technician — Columbia City, IN

J&K Communications, Inc. is seeking an energetic self-motivator to join our growing team. We are looking for a dependable, hard-working individual for long-term employment who works well under pressure and exhibits strong attention to detail.

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties as management deems necessary from time to time:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues when radio equipment is brought in.
  • Repair equipment down to the component level.
  • Assist with radio programming and prepare loaner radios for distribution.
  • Prepare radio equipment to be sent to the factory for repair.
  • Act as a backup technician in emergencies to launch out of the shop.
  • Read schematics. (Not required, but would be a plus!)
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational, oral, written, and listening skills.
  • Proficient computer skills. (In Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Communicate professionally with coworkers and customers.
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Be able to prioritize and multitask. (This is a necessary quality for the role.)

Two Way Service Technician - Columbia City, IN

J & K Communications is seeking an energetic, self-motivator to join our growing team. We
are looking for a dependable, long-term, hard-working individual who works well under

The basic functions of the Two-Way Radio Systems Technician at J & K Communications, Inc.
is to perform in-house and in-field responses to day-to-day radio problems, perform component
level repairs on fixed site, mobile and portable equipment. This list of duties and responsibilities
is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties as management may deem
necessary from time to time:

 Provide hands-on troubleshooting and diagnostic support for radio related systems
 Research and evaluate system problems and recommend a solution
 Work with the sales team to assist in coordinating project installation/deployments
 Install and/or remove equipment (i.e. radio interoperability gateways,remote controls and external speakers, etc.)
 Check-in, evaluate and repair units sent/brought into shop for repair
 Program radios and keep updated documentation
 Assist with the specifications and design of dispatch and remote communications facilities
 Ability to communicate professionally with co-workers and customers on a daily basis
 Positive, team-oriented attitude and ability to prioritize and multitask is a must

Communications Sales Consultant - Columbia City, IN

MAJOR DUTIES

  • Generate revenue through sales and services to new and existing accounts; establishing and maintaining a high level of quality and customer satisfaction
  • Meet with customers and is comfortable with various levels of management.  Some customers include, Schools, Public Safety, Manufacturing and State & Local Government
  • Develop a strong CRM funnel and manage weekly
  • Basic understanding of two-way communications (mobiles, portables & systems) – training will be provided by employer
  • Some knowledge of the Integrated Public Safety Communications System and QPA pricing is helpful
  • Follow-up and manage sales leads and schedule customer meetings
  • Achieve or exceed customer needs, expectations and provide training as necessary
  • Additional duties as assigned or required


KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Understanding of the wireless/LMR industry preferred
     

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficient computer skills, excellent organizational, oral, written and presentation skills (in-person & virtual).  Business attire may be required
  • Ability to capture requirements from customers on both strategic and tactical levels
  • As an Outside Sales Consultant, you must have excellent sales talents, as well as the willingness to learn the J&K Way to sales and service. A valid Driver’s License, clean driving record, and own reliable vehicle is required.
