Customer Service Specialist - Columbia City, IN

J & K Communications is seeking an energetic, self-motivator to join our growing team.  We are looking for a dependable, hard-working individual who works well with little supervision.


This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties as management may deem necessary from time to time:
 

  • Greeting customers and assisting with counter sales
  • Checking in radios/equipment brought to shop by clients/technical staff
  • Checking in radios/equipment back from factory to be inspected
  • Shipping all orders daily and assisting with receiving when needed
  • Process all RMA’s/warranty swaps on defective equipment/parts
  • Submitting warranty claims on radio repairs for reimbursement
  • Assist with staging and auditing of job boxes before and after jobs are completed
  • Working closely with purchasing to assist as needed with various tasks
  • Respond to customer calls and email inquires
  • Bobcat/forklift experience preferred by not required
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational, oral, written and listening skills
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate professionally with co-workers and customers
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask is a must

In House Bench Technician — Columbia City, IN

J&K Communications, Inc. is seeking an energetic self-motivator to join our growing team. We are looking for a dependable, hard-working individual for long-term employment who works well under pressure and exhibits strong attention to detail.

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties as management deems necessary from time to time:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair radio issues down to component level
  • Assist with programming of radios and prepare loaner radios to send out
  • Prepare radios to be sent to factory for repair
  • Understanding of schematics
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational, oral, written and listening skills
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate professionally with co-workers and customers

Operations Coordinator - Columbia City, IN

J&K Communications, Inc. is seeking an energetic, self-motivator to join our growing team.  We are looking for a dependable, long-term, hard-working individual who works well under pressure and has strong communication skills.  

The basic function of the Operations Coordinator at J&K Communications, Inc. is to coordinate the manpower, equipment and materials needed to dispatch technical personnel to service calls and various projects to service staff members while ensuring the efficient use of the company’s resources and meeting the needs of the customer. This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties as management may deem necessary from time to time:

  • Schedule & coordinate tasks for our installers and technicians on a daily basis who are located at separate locations.
  • Work closely with our Sales Dept. and Lead Technicians to ensure that projects are organized, within budget and being completed on time
  • Answer calls and emails from clients who need service work done at their location
  • Schedule preventative maintenance service calls based upon contractual requirements
  • Schedule J&K site maintenance to meet site requirements when openings are available
  • Schedule meetings to discuss upcoming projects and timelines with sales and technical staff and ensure that all depts are kept informed of all changes to the project
  • Work with other internal department team members to verify all materials required for a task or project are available and set up prior to scheduled date
  • Maintain contact with customers regarding pending start dates
  • Ability to communicate professionally with co-workers and customers daily
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask is a must

Two Way Radio Systems Technician - Columbia City, IN

J & K is in immediate need of a Two-Way Radio Systems Technician. 2 years of experience servicing land mobile radio equipment (Kenwood, Motorola, or similar) and experience servicing handheld radios, mobile radios, base or repeater stations preferred. J&K will entertain training the applicant in the tower climbing portion of our industry if the applicant has electronics knowledge and is willing to climb.

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties as management may deem necessary from time to time:

  • Individual should be a self-starter, punctual, and customer oriented
  • Have excellent documentation and strong team building skills
  • Ensure projects are completed on time
  • Install and service antenna systems and radio equipment following verbal or written instructions and drawings
  • Ability to analyze cables and use test equipment and software
  • The ability to test for proper radio service and signal strength
  • Must have knowledge of radio equipment. Climbing, rigging and safety procedures if applicable
  • Must be safety oriented and possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to lift 75lbs
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Monday-Friday schedule with occasional weekend/overnight work
